The ALLY Alliance: It's YOUR Group
The Arc of Hanover is pleased to announce the launching of its own chapter of the ALLY Alliance. 'ALLY' stands for A Life Like Yours.
It’s a statewide network of self-advocates and local self-advocacy groups working together to create change in Virginia -- so you can live, work, and be part of your community -- with the support that fits your needs. The Arc of Virginia is the umbrella organization for these efforts.
Change how? The ALLY Alliance helps self-advocates speak up, grow their leadership skills, connect with others, and be part of a movement that is stronger together. You run your own meetings and plan your own goals. But you won't be alone -- and fun in community is part of the whole thing.
Director of Program, Diane Gallegos, and volunteer/trainer Melissa Balmer facilitate the gatherings, which will be held on the 2nd Thursday evening of the month, from 6 to 7:30 PM, in our Community Room.

There is no fee to participate, but please register so we can maintain the ALLY Alliance group list. (Register on this link.)
We can't wait to see where YOU want to go!

We commit to forming alliances with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.
